Shadow of Memory

“Each memory was now the shadow of a shadow of a shadow” quoted by Haruki Murakami in his short story 'Tony Takitani' - is the inspiration behind Bipasha's work 'Shadow of Memory'. She tried to preserve Time by marking relentlessly on the muslin's surface, in her own language of subconscious which can be defined as 'psychic automatism' or Asemic writing.
To her, Memory is the shadow of reality (the texts on muslin) and the resonance of emotion one feels by recalling memory - is the shadow of shadow (cast shadow of muslin on wall). Bipasha’s Shadow of muslin has a fluidity of movement of, essentially, throwing its ‘text’ to the wind, making it tentative, possible, but uncertain just as the script itself appears laden with
possibilities, but remains an enigma and undecipherable. Hayat’s works proffer but rescind.
