artwork.

Concept :

The whole universe is composed of numbers. To begin my artwork for Sumuk Biennale 2021, when the theme is - 'One for All, All for One', I could not but think about the number TEN. 10 is a number which consists of all the numbering components. Hence I have taken 10 pieces of paper create one artwork out of them. I have started feeling heavy at heart, ever since the start of the covid 19 spread and times became bleak for us. It seems as if I have been carrying a heavy stone inside of me for ever and ever and I felt I needed to get rid of the weight. To make this artwork have picked up a stone from near my house in Tennessee USA, where I have been living for one and a half year. The stone, along with my body, became a tool to paint. Ink has been brushed upon the stone and I moved and scraped the stone on 10 pieces of textured watercolor paper continually for half an hour or more. The heavy stone gave me a feeling that my inner heaviness was coming out and taking its shape on the papers. I was exhausted but relieved, for I was able to clearly imprint a piece of my mind out of my body.
